What age can my
son or daughter start training?
The
American
College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and
Conditioning Association (NSCA) have all stated that strength training
is not only appropriate but is highly recommended for preadolescent
youths as young as 6 years old. Young girls are especially recommended
to partake in the benefits of regular strength training. The ACSM has
even suggested that 50% of all preadolescent sports related injuries
are preventable through an appropriate strength training
program. Athletes typically start our programs at 8 or 9
years old. We provide a very effective year-round training
program with injury prevention and regeneration to prevent
over-training and under-training.
