Mission Statement
The mission of AthletePlus Physical Therapy and Sports Performance is to educate the general public and others on health and fitness issues with evidence-based articles and videos.  

Physical Therapy

Chris Cothern
MSPT, CSCS

Chris has bachelor's degrees in Health Sciences and Microbiology with a minor in Psychology, a Masters degree in physical therapy, and is currently a candidate for a Doctorate degree in physical therapy.  He is also the Arkansas state director for the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Chris' interests include sports performance, sports medicine, personal training for active individuals and those returning from injury. Chris has extensive  experience treating athletes of all ages, but also years of training in the treatment of back and neck pain.  See Qualifications for more information on Chris and why you should choose AthletePlus for physical therapy.   He has developed a very successful core strengthening program specifically for shoulders and backs. Katherine Cothern MSPT
Katherine has a bachelor's degree in biology from Baylor University and a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences to go along with her Masters degree in physical therapy from UCA. During her over 9 years a physical therapist, Katherine has worked entirely with the pediatric population. We offer equipment ordering and upkeep, casting for braces, as well as a comprehensive evaluation for treatment for disorders in children.  See our Pediatric section for more information.

Adam taylor, CSCCa
Sports Performance Director
Adam is a Certified College Strength and Conditioning coach who was a University of Arkansas strength coach from 2002-2008.  Adam has trained over 50 professional athletes and 1000 collegiate athletes in 6 different sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and track.  He has trained over 40 All-Americans, indicating his passion for training athletes to become Playmakers at AthletePlus.

Alex Mortensen 
A former Razorback and Tennessee Titan, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge to our training program.  Alex takes over the Quarterback University  (QBU) training which is by appointment only to a limited number of athletes ages 8 and up.  Mortensen is the son of ESPN Senior analyst Chris Mortensen.  


Chris Cothern, PT, DPT, CSCS
Chris has developed AthletiCorePlusTM Training, which is a program for the core muscles to assist in preventing injuries and improving performance.  He developed the ACL Segway Program for athletes returning from an ACL injury.  Chris is the founder and owner of AthletePlus Sports Performance and Physical Therapy, located next to the fitness center in All-Star Sports Arena.
